Oakridge Pediatrics is the name of an association of general pediatric specialists who share office space, clinic staff and resources at Oakridge Centre in Vancouver, BC.

Dr. Michelle Clarke completed her medical training at Dalhousie University and her Pediatrics residency at the University of British Columbia. She obtained her subspecialty certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and has worked in the Emergency department at BC Children’s Hospital as well as with the Division of General Pediatrics
Dr. Michelle Clarke completed her medical training at Dalhousie University and her Pediatrics residency at the University of British Columbia. She obtained her subspecialty certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and has worked in the Emergency department at BC Children’s Hospital as well as with the Division of General Pediatrics for a number of years. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a member of the Canadian and the BC Pediatric Societies. Dr. Clarke has a strong interest in medical education and was program director for the Pediatric emergency medicine subspecialty training program at UBC from 2010-2014. She continues to be very involved in resident and medical student education. Dr. Clarke provides general pediatric care across the full pediatric age span from newborns to adolescents. Areas of special interest include asthma, eczema, childhood injuries, and child development and behaviour.

She is passionate about improving health outcomes for children from infancy to adolescence, with special interest in public health, infant care, and growth issues. She practices general pediatrics in the hospital-based setting as a locum at Lion's Gate Hospital. She enjoys working in collaboration with family physicians and midwives to provide family-centered care. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, reading, biking, and baking.

Dr. Desai is fellowship trained in pediatric emergency medicine, which he practices full-time at BC Children’s Hospital. He has expanded his practice to include general pediatrics, holding bimonthly clinics at Oakridge. His goal is to create a safe and inclusive space for all members of the pediatric community.

Dr. Kitson has enjoyed a long and varied career in pediatrics. Having finished her medical training in the UK, Dr. Kitson went travelling before completing pediatric residency training and subspecialty training (pediatric endocrinology) in Sydney Australia. Following two years back in the UK, she moved with her family to Canada and has been practicing in Vancouver ever since. After repeating all the examinations to be eligible to practice here, Dr. Kitson was a part-time staff member of the pediatric endocrine team at BC Children’s Hospital for several years, until she left and joined the Oakridge Pediatrics Group to practice General Pediatrics. Dr. Kitson retrained in managing ADHD and developmental problems in children, and now limits her practice to providing consultation for children with developmental or behavioral concerns, ADHD, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorder. She continues to relish the opportunity, challenge and privilege of working with these resilient children and families
Dr. Paul Korn received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of British Columbia in 1979 and a Medical Degree from McMaster University in 1982. He completed his Residency in Pediatrics in 1986 and a Fellowship in Paediatric Emergency Medicine the following year. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeon

He served as the University of British Columbia Division Head for General Pediatrics for 15 years, and was the Acting of Head of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and the Division of Adolescent Medicine. He was the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at B.C. Children's Hospital for five years. His specific interests are in the field of Pediatric Concussion and Headaches. He is a member of the B.C. Concussion Advisory Network. His passion is travel, and he thoroughly enjoys the Performing and Visual Arts.

She is the consultant Pediatrician for the UBC Health Clinic and is on the Autism Team at Sunny Hill. Outreach includes visiting Bella Bella and Prince George to do general pediatrics
Dr. Lipson is a Vancouver native and a general pediatrician. She has a private practice in Oakridge, where she welcomes children with any pediatric problem. She is the consultant Pediatrician for the UBC Health Clinic and is on the Autism Team at Sunny Hill. Outreach includes visiting Bella Bella and Prince George to do general pediatrics and autism assessments. As a speaker at medical conferences, she has lectured on medical and developmental disorders, and has published articles on such topics as Vitamin B12 deficiency in infants and Processing Disorders. She is a member of the Community Pediatrics committee of the Canadian Pediatric Society. She has worked for the Vancouver Health Board in schools, and on the wards at BC Children Hospital. In her free time, she runs a charity that helps children with academic struggles.

Dr. Svetlana Ruzic is a Royal College certified general pediatrician. She completed medical school at the University of Belgrade (Serbia) and pediatric residency at the University of British Columbia. She is a Faculty at BC Children’s Hospital working in the division of Oncology and Hematology and at Royal Columbian Hospital as an integral part of general pediatric group. In the past fifteen years, Dr. Ruzic was working in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at B.C. Children’s Hospital as part of transport team providing urgent care in life-threatening emergencies for children in remote area. She also worked at St. Paul Hospital in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Ruzic's medical interest lies in newborn and infant care, general children and adolescent pediatrics, hematology and in complex learning and behavioral conditions. In addition, Dr. Ruzic is the preceptor for the Nurse Practitioner students, medical students and residents as she loves teaching and supporting their endeavors. Dr. Ruzic is an active member of the Ethics Committee at BCCH, member of the British Columbia Pediatric Society and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

She is involved in cultural sensitivity workshops with the University of British Columbia Health Science disciplines and has a special interest in the health and wellness of Indigenous peoples of Canada. Dr. Tait is thankful to practice on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territories of the səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh), Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish) and šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmaɁɬ təməxʷ (Musqueam) First Nations, where she lives with her husband and two children.

Dr. Ruth Wingerin is originally from Cape Town South Africa, where she did her Medical training at the University of Cape Town. After graduating in 1986, she completed her internship at Groote Schuur Hospital and Red Cross Children's Hospital in Cape Town before moving to North America to complete her Paediatric studies. She started her Paediatric training at the Schneider Children's Hospital in Long Island, New York and then transferred to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where she completed her residency in Pediatrics. Her final year of training was in Child Psychiatry with a special interest in ADHD. She worked in the field of Developmental Paediatrics in Toronto until she and her family moved to British Columbia in 1996. Since moving to BC she has held several positions including working for the BCAAN Autism network at Sunny Hill from 1997 until 2012. She has also worked for the Northern Health Authority where she completed Autism Assessments in communities in BC that do not have full time access to specialist services. Dr. Wingerin has worked at Monarch House since it was established in 2009 and now divides her time between her Developmental Paediatric practice in Vancouver and her work at Monarch House. She assesses children for Autism and also provides consultation to parents of children with an Autism diagnosis. Dr. Wingerin has extensive experience with Autism diagnosis and management, and understands the struggles of parents, as she too has a son with Autism.

He has worked extensively in Ethiopia, South America, Indian sub-continent, Southeast Asia and China.
With his accumulated international experience Dr. Yong has affirmed a single theme in the care of children – the care of children starts with the family. Dr. Yong is a firm believer in involving the family in medical decision for the children. The care of children is not just about a medical condition, it also entails the cultural and social values of the family.
Dr. Yong welcomes the care of children in all areas of Pediatrics. Whether it is a first-time parent with a colicky baby or the complex care of a child with multiple medical conditions, Dr. Yong believes in working with the family to provide the best possible care.

Dr. Mahal is currently on leave from her full time practice to do additional training in Developmental Pediatrics at the Sunny Hill Health Center for Children. She is seeing patients on a limited basis at Oakridge Pediatrics for autism assessments.
