Email to the medical office assistatant are for the following purposes only, please:

Issues related to prescribed medication that cannot wait for the next appointment, eg unexpected or severe side effects.
To answer a question or send a form that your MD has specifically asked from you (eg to send your child's weight, or a report the teacher wrote).
Something else in your judgement that needs quick attention from the doctor, when you have been unable to schedule an appointment (because of the doctor's lack of availability). If this is the case, please state the situation briefly.

Please do NOT email

To request prescription renewals. Please call your pharmacy to fax out office a prescription refill request.
To inform the physician about new concerns you may have about your child: these issues are best dealt in an appointment, even a phone appointment.
To describe in detail what you would like to convey: please save this for your appointment when a back and forth discussion can take place. Long emails will not be ready by the MD.
To request for appointments. Please call the office during the medical office assistants' phone hours. to set up an appointment with your pediatrician.
